Las Vegas
was busy with Karateka from around the world as once again
it became the karate capital during the Easter weekend. Our
crews were busy capturing images from events. We had a special
treat as our good friend, James Tawatao, arranged an interview
for us with sensei Morio Higaonna. This interview was a very
friendly and informative discussion with sensei Higaonna and
his son Eric (Seiji). |

Our new
issue had its debut in West Virginia and New York last weekend.
Our new format was well received. You can expect your issue
in the mail soon. Dojo orders around the country are on their

Wow have
we been busy here at American Samurai. Volume 15 is at the
printers and without a doubt this is the best edition yet
with a new format using magazine layout, a glossy color cover
and more color inside.

As practitioners
of martial arts we have many influences of Japanese culture.
The term giri is a complicated one that I will not try to
define here but rather try to highlight a bit of. It has been
explained to me many times and is a reccurring theme for many
of our lives. One aspect of giri to me is as an obligation
and sense of giving back. |
